In order to raise funds for its humanitarian action, the Foundation organizes every year a glamorous and festive ball.

This year, we have chosen to support the education of Lebanese students in public schools.

Since 2019, Lebanon is experiencing a major economic crisis with devastating consequences. One of which is that electricity has become scarce. Barely one hour of electricity per day is provided by the state owned Electricité du Liban (EDL).

Public schools are suffering from this phenomenon and are plunged into darkness, no longer having the means to fulfil their essential mission. Thus, it is no longer possible to light the classrooms or to operate the electrical appliances or even the water pumping and filtration systems!

To counter this situation, the Collège Champittet Foundation, with the help of the Rotary Club of Tripoli Cosmopolis, is planning to equip a dozen schools with solar panels and inverters to produce electricity autonomously, as the country benefits from a major advantage of 300 days of sunshine per year.

The funds raised during the evening will be given to the benefit of public schools attended by the most deprived students (Lebanese and Syrian refugees) and are part of a sustainable and ecological project.
