The cause
For 40 years in Madagascar, Stefano Scaringella, a man of faith and surgeon, has helped improve the quality of life for thousands of people in the Ambanja region in the north-west of the island. He developed a hospital there and operated thousands of people himself, then built the Maison des Enfants, a safe and functional home for abandoned children. In 2011, the Champittet Foundation built a school in Andrafiabe, where 200-250 pupils attend school every year. This was followed by the opening of a home for young girls in Tananarive and the development of the Regional Hospital, under joint management with local staff and the Fondation Children First.
Over the years, and under the caring guidance of Father Stefano, donations collected by the Collège Champittet Foundation and Children First have continued to improve the living conditions, education and care of several hundred children and young adults.
In view of the growing needs, the two foundations, which have been actively collaborating for many years, decided this year to join forces for this Bal, enabling :
– The construction of a building for the boys at the Maison des Enfants
– The creation of a scholarship fund enabling access to higher education, including the Lycée Français d’Antanarivo and university.

Auction and Tombola

This year, we raised CHF 150,000 at our Auction and Tombola. These funds enabled the installation of solar panels 23 schools in the Tripoli region of Lebanon. - Foundation ball – 2022The 2022 charity ball at the Beau-Rivage Palace raised CHF 100,000 for Father Stefano’s works in Madagascar.
